"Time for the Turn Around"

"Really"  "Seriously"  Lately these seem to be the token words to express sarcasm.  I'm almost 34 and It feels like 44!!! What I am trying to say is "30 the new 20" who made up that lie? Another marketing technique to get people out to the city and go to the clubs? Or just to keep people dreaming of a better time. If mid life crisis' happen around 40 then I am an early bloomer. Caught in between a baby boomer and generation "X"  raised by one parent.  I have become the spokes person for uncool. With the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer I was laid off a great job building retail stores.  Now I am a free lance construction  worker having to take care of my mother(also laid off). So broke my weekends consist of watching the same 6 movies in HBO's rotation, smoking 2 packs of cig's while  playing social network video games. (Pathetic, I know!!!) The only 2 things that are coming easily to me now are depression and weight gain.  So it is "TIME FOR THE TURN AROUND"  I'm not sure I can top Subway's Jared, but let's just say I have to lose a couple.  On my behalf  I'm 6ft. and I do have a good bit of muscle, but yes I am way to fat.  I feel like  I'm carrying around a small person and I am not proud of it.....So this is the beginning.....    I will keep you posted on how it goes and what I am doing to get to my goal.

  2. You weren't lying. It is a privilege to leave a comment on your very first post. The one you saw at my place ("FREE MANURE") is my 778th post. I started in September 2007 and wondered if I had enough in my brain to last more than a few days. I'm still going strong.

Good luck on your quest to lose weight, and I mean that sincerely, not in a sarcastic way. I still feel 18 inside, but just so you know, I am 70.

The best thing you could do is drop the cigarettes, but then you might have to fight even harder to lose weight. You have people you don't even know pulling for you.

  3. Thanks Guys!!! I can use any advise or words of wisdom from people with experience of life. I think that is the real reason I started this blog. To get different views and opinions from the world not just my spot on the map. Although family and friends can help make you strong, walking around the same park everyday you tend to become another tree. I'd rather be a bird.....

  4. Oh yeah... Day 1- Loading up on vitamins,- Osteo biflex (for joints)and some acai'. Using liquid B-12 to get over the sluggish, sleepiness. (MUCH cheaper then 5 hour energy with the main ingredient) Getting the mountain bike out of the shed today. Have to bust the rust off it, for a 5 mile ride sometime this week to get started and test the stamina. Pacing myself with the cig's only 2 so far today. Shooting for less then a pack a day to try and ween myself naturally. Hear to many bad things about meds like chantix. Going for the all natural approach with everything this time. Unlike the years before.......

Okay, send all your money to me. That's the best advice I can offer--and it's all for your own good, of course.

I actually have very little advice about losing weight since I've never struggled with that problem too much, although I'm now on two drugs that have made my weight go ten pounds beyond what I would like. Finally, I am getting a glimpse of what other people struggle with.

Rhymes, you're seventy! Damn. You see, Friendly, Rhymes won't let me say dirty words on his blog, so I have to make the most of it when I'm visiting other people's blogs.
